May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month.

And this year, we want to tell you about Ceejay.

A mole on her thigh. A tanning bed habit, she thought, was harmless. A diagnosis that changed everything.

Christine, known as Ceejay, is a Stage IIIb melanoma survivor. Her cancer came back, spreading to her lymph nodes. What followed was immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hospitalizations, and surgeries. Moments where her body didn’t feel like her own anymore.

She fought. And she’s still here.

But here’s what haunts us about her story — and stories like hers:

-1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70.

-When caught early, melanoma’s 5-year survival rate is 99%.

-When caught late, the story looks very different.

The gap between those two outcomes often comes down to one thing: how completely a patient’s clinical picture is seen.

Fragmented records. Missed signals. Data trapped in unstructured notes that no one ever connected into a full picture.

At Clinakos, we work with pharma and biotech teams to make sure no patient’s story gets lost. Our AI-native platform captures the full clinical narrative, from diagnostic odyssey to treatment patterns, because behind every data point is a real person navigating one of the hardest moments of their life.

This month, we honor survivors like Ceejay.

Every month, we build the tools that help ensure better stories get written.
