🎗️ Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, accounting for about 3% of all cancers in the U.S. but nearly 8% of all cancer deaths. In 2025, an estimated 67,440 Americans will be diagnosed, and about 51,980 are expected to die from the disease. The overall 5-year relative survival rate is just 13% — underscoring the urgent need for early detection and improved treatments. It is currently the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., projected to become the second by 2030.
Meet Ken Beerger, a courageous survivor whose journey embodies hope despite this daunting statistic. Ken’s symptoms, like feeling full quickly and severe back pain, led to an aggressive Stage II diagnosis. His battle included intense chemotherapy 💉, targeted radiation therapy 🔬, and complex surgery 🏥 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Despite chemo side effects and a tough recovery, Ken is now three years cancer-free 🎉, enjoying life with his grandchildren, riding his motorcycle 🏍️, and pursuing photography 📸.
Ken’s story is a powerful reminder that breakthroughs in patient-level data analytics and research can help empower earlier diagnosis and better care strategies — saving lives. At @Clinakos, we’re committed to driving innovation in healthcare data to change the future of pancreatic cancer.
